Policoro is a pleasant lively town during the summer with one of the widest and equipped beaches of the Ionian coast of Lucania. In its territory is located, in addition to the Baronial Castle, the famous National Museum of Siris with Greek artifacts, the Archaeological Park of Siris-Heraclea, former colonies of Magna Grecia, and Bosco Pantano (Pantano Wood), a famous WWF oasis. In less than one hour you can also reach Matera that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its characteristic "Sassi" (old town with houses carved into the tufa). At about 70 km is located the Pollino National Park, the largest Natural Park of Italy, where you can find a wild and unspoiled environment rich in rare animal species and beautiful landscapes.
