The Rifugio del Lupo, open all year round very close to the Gea path (00), which connects the entire Apennines and which in the immediate vicinity leads to the famous sanctuary of La Verna and the fascinating hermitage of Camaldoli, takes its name from the noblest predator who lives in close contact with us, so fortunately it is not difficult to hear the nocturnal howls of the wolves that have always lived on the Apennines, registered and recognized by the province of Arezzo.
The house surrounded by 23 ha including a large organic orchard, chestnut groves, pastures and centuries-old woods, was built before 1800, abandoned in the 40-50s, it was reduced to a ruin, after much effort and hard work it returned to live, to be shared with those who love nature, as it is immersed in the rich and unspoiled Tuscan Apennines.
Located on a beautiful south-facing plateau from which you can admire enchanting sunrises and sunsets, and breathtaking starry sky as it is extremely far from artificial light sources! Ideal for those interested in astronomy.
The area is very rich in uncontaminated streams, porcini mushrooms, wild boar, fallow deer, red deer, roe deer and all the other animals of the local wildlife, easily visible, since the presence of humans is reduced to a minimum.
At your disposal there is the LUPO room, a small apartment with double bed plus a bunk bed, bathroom with shower, equipped kitchen including gas and fridge, for 4 people, ideal for families.Upstairs we offer the DAINO room, from two to four people and bathroom with toilet and shower shared with the ROAR room also for two to four people with bunk beds.The large CERVO room only on request and reservation, for more than seven eight people able to adapt, with a bathroom with shower. For a total of 20 beds.
