Santhià carnival: history puts on a mask and the celebration begins!

We will take you to Santhià, along the ancient Via Francigena, where a Carnival documented as early as 1093 comes to life through medieval traditions, historic masks and an entire town in celebration.

During the guided walking tour of the historic centre, Santhià is already buzzing with excitement: the first parades animate squares and arcades, the masks welcome the arrival of Gianduja, and the atmosphere fills with music, colours and joy.

The itinerary continues through the city’s most iconic landmarks and the Museum of the Historic Carnival, where you will discover rituals, characters and fascinating stories from a tradition that has been alive for centuries.

At lunchtime, enjoy the authentic flavours of the region with the famous Fagiuolata of Santhià and risotto.
In the afternoon, the highlight of the day: the grand parade of allegorical floats, with papier-mâché creations, marching bands and a vibrant festive atmosphere.
